Other popular clubs at the school include chess club, cupcake club, eco club and student parliament, which consists of students from Grades 2 to 8.

Our students also participate in a number of fairs and competitions outside of the classrooms, including Science Fair, Entrepreneurship Fair, the Bridge Building Competition and the Math, Science and Technology Olympics.

We are always looking for new ways to learn and grow. MacLeod’s School Council meets regularly to support and promote a positive learning environment and engage with parents/guardians and the community.

Technology is the future. It’s also the present as students at MacLeod have daily access to iPads and touchscreen Chromebooks. Each classroom has an Apple TV. Teachers and students explore the ever-changing world of technology together. Building respectful global citizens is an important part of overall learning.

MacLeod Public School has an outstanding staff of dedicated professionals who provide a dynamic education for all Mustangs. We are proud to provide our students with unique opportunities that allow them to become lifelong learners and passionate contributors within their communities and our global society.

In 2014, MacLeod celebrated the official opening of its new school building. It is the Rainbow District School Board’s third green school.

Construction began in the spring of 2012 and marked another milestone in the Board’s commitment to sustainability and revitalization. MacLeod Public School’s high performance facilities are designed to protect the natural environment, decrease energy consumption and operating expenses, and nurture a culture of conservation. Above all, the new building provides an exceptional place for teaching and learning.

Green features include displacement ventilation for improved indoor air quality, radiant in-floor heating, improved window, floor, and roof insulation to increase thermal performance, energy efficient plumbing and lighting fixtures, energy saving occupancy sensors, and an architectural design that takes advantage of natural sunlight.

The new building also includes a 174,000 square foot schoolyard with soccer fields, basketball courts, two large play structures, flower and vegetable gardens, infant, toddler and pre-school care, a before and after school program, and brand new technology.
